Overall we enjoyed our recent dinner at Coastal Flats in Gaithersburg. Bread basket is an extra dollar charge, and has a nice variety, esp when served with fried donuts, which are addicting!! More All of the entree salads are very enjoyable, even though the one served with shrimp and pasta is a little too salty, but tasty. The steak for entree was enjoyable with mashed potatoes and spinach. I do not enjoy the bbq ribs, as it needs a better recipe. The bread pudding dessert is tasteless and bland, not like bread pudding served down south in New Orleans or Charleston, S.C. The burgers are decent, but I prefer served with lettuce and tomato, but have to ask for it. Have a tasty key lime pie for dessert, which is a very nice option for someone's birthday, as it is served decorated, with a candle in the center. Best items are deviled eggs for appetizer, wonderful fried fish & chips or salmon for entree. Good to dine if you crave food with a southern flair. They have a popular noisy bar vibe, for those that like that sort of thing. Can be very crowded on weekends, however, service is efficient. The decor is very attractive with mostly large booths spaced far enough apart to have a conversation. Located 5 minutes from the interstate, in a great town center location, with easy parking.
